It's been a while since the last update, my apologies. I had meetings the last few days, with the exception of yesterday...which was a much needed lazy saturday.
The meetings went well, a little bit learning some new technology and a lot of strategy to how to approach the area. And more than that it was a good chance to get to know everyone a little better. I was basically given free reign to go get business in the gulf and surrounding areas. But enough boring business stuff...here's what has transpired over the past few days.
-Laurel is Officially an Omani (although that was interesting because she had to wait in the ladies area and I had to wait in the men's area with the kids)
-Jack had to ride in the front seat with Laurel because Suliman gave them a ride home from getting visa. Weird that u can get a ticket for a dirty vehicle, but kids are allowed to ride in the front and seat belts aren't mandatory.
-We finally got a vacuum and toaster. Laurel had 4 pieces of toast and honey in celebration of the toaster.
-A maid turned us down because her room was too small, too bad because we would've hired her, she was CPR certified.
-We actually had a night out with all our company people without Jack. Terry watched Jack for us, but then decided she needed to organize/clean our whole downstairs area. Terry you are awesome.
-Laurel has an ear infection..but vinegar and saltwater is doing wonders.
-Our leaks are supposively fixed. Which was rough for La because tons of Indians were loudly in and out of the house while La was home alone with the kiddos and I was in meetings.
-We finally got satellite...I'm watching The Thursday night NFL game, its as close to live as we'll get...but at least I get to watch football on my Sunday (I mean Friday).
-We are considering flying a maid over here from phillipines.
-I took all the fellas in town to Old City Muscat (Muttrah). We walked the souks and I bought some frankincense and myrrh and a few Omani Christmas Ornaments. I also got offered a $2500 oriental rug to which I responded by laughing hysterically.
-Our Ikea order is suppose to be here the 26th. We're hoping Santa is good to us and arrives before Christmas.
-The saltwater pool is awesome, I haven't showered in days...I'm kidding, but seriously it is awesome.
-We were also asked to head up the middle school youth program at the church. We're currently considering taking on that task and working to get details about what all that entails. It's weird to me that we would be given that much authority so quickly. So who know's what'll happen with that situation.
