Driving really isn't a big deal here. The only way to explain it is it's much less formal. The two rules you must abide are don't run red lights (although there are mainly roundabouts) and don't speed, the car actually beeps when you drive over 120km. Other simple traffic laws don't apply here, but I find it much less annoying than driving in Dallas or Houston.
Having said that the only issue I've had is their poor excuse of a map. There are so many more roads than are shown on this map. I dropped my boss off at the airport this morning and had no problems exiting and getting back on the main highway. It took me an hour to make it to the office. The office is probably only 10 minutes from the airport. So I got some unintentional sight seeing accomplished. But more importantly was able to get myself unlost and figure out which exit is for my hotel without using the map and found the office without the help of the map. Apparently I have a good sense of direction or it could be that it's pretty obvious the mountains, which are visible in a haze of heat, are South and the coast is North.
haha!! too funny! Thank God you have Dad's sense of direction! You all know I don't have a sense of direction!! haha!!
