the jet lag, keeping up with folks via phone, and trying to make sure things are in proper working order so we can live, we haven't felt much like sitting and writing about it.
So I'll start from the beginning, THE 3 PLANE RIDES. I cap lock that only for dramatic effect. As far as the actual plane rides go it was completely uneventful. The only thing worth noting is how great everyone was with our kids and how many people were willing to help carry our stuff. A bunch of random Englishmen actually played with Jack on the plane as we walked the isle, many of them catching them as his momentum sped him towards the rear of the plane.
Now I purposely labeled the above paragraph plane rides, this paragraph is called AIRPORTS. Something happened in every airport...OKC- couldn't take our crib because it was overweight. Newark was by far the worst. We arrive in Newark and someone had accidentally taken my bag from the jet way that I was forced to check. This basically meant I freaked out for the next 30 minutes as I made my way to baggage claim to find the one of the two bags that had a large amount of cash in it. Long story short I turned a corner after walking around the baggage claim and there it was. Later I found out that La actually prayed that I would walk around a corner and it would be standing there, pretty awesome. Leaving Newark was the most challenging part of the trip. We were able to hang with Jenni and Brian for majority of our 7 hour layover. About 3 hours before our flight I try to go get our tickets only to findout they won't ticket us without a reciept to BA from Continental for our baggage overage. There was a $20 discrepentcy and a piece of paper that kept us from getting ticketed. Luckily, I went to Continental help desk and Jim, a part time NYPD and a higher up at Continental overheard my conversation with someone else. Thanks to Jim who personally went from terminal to terminal with me trying to get a receipt so we could get ticketed we made our flight. For the second time of the day we were the last people on the plane. Then in Heathrow, we were freshening up a little over an hour before our plane boards and all of the sudden the big board reads our gate is closing. So we book it down to our gate only to be herded on a bus where we sit at the gate for 30 minutes. And then we got into Muscat where we find out BA has lost 4 of our 8 pieces of luggage, those 4 pieces where all of La's clothes, both kids pack and plays and Hudds carseat. On top of that we missed our ride because we were over 2 hours late getting out of the airport from our flight being late and from getting all the paper work for our bags. That was my best attempt at a shortened version of just the trip. To be continued.....
